Process

We place a high priority on preparation before and integration after your Ketamine session.

Reaching Out:

Request a free 10 minute consultation and we can begin the preparation process by answering any questions or concerns you might have.

Free 10 Minutes Consultation:

During this brief consultation Dr. Mati will answer any questions you have and assess if ketamine assisted therapy is right for you. After this conversation, we will begin a more in depth preparation process.

Medical Intake And Preparation:

This 1 hour video consultation with Dr. Mati will include a more extensive conversation about ketamine, a review of your medical history, and a discussion of our informed consent. We will begin a discussion regarding preparation for your first ketamine session which will be continued in your physcological intake.

Psychological Intake And Preparation:

After your medical intake and preparation, you will have a 1 hour video consultation with our licensed therapist. You will have the opportunity to discuss your intentions for your session.

Ketamine Session 1:

Most clients will use an oral form of ketamine for their first session. The medicine in this rapid dissolving tablet (RDT) gets absorbed through the inside of one’s mouth. The onset of action of the medicine is gradual, generally reaching peak effect in about 20 minutes and lasting around 40-60 minutes. Both Dr. Mati and a licensed therapist will be in the room with you. After the effects of the medicine wane, we will be there with you to talk with you and begin to integrate your experience.

Integration Session 1:

You will have a session, via telephone or video, with our therapist within 72 hours after your ketamine session. This will be a time to reflect and further integrate your experience.

Ketamine Session 2 And Beyond:

The next sessions are very similar to the first with the additional option of having the medicine delivered via the intramuscular route (a small needle injection similar to a vaccine). The onset of action via intramuscular is within 2-5 minutes with peak activity at around 10 minutes and duration around 40 minutes. The intramuscular experience is often deeper and more transformative than the oral ketamine experience.

We recommend most clients start with at least 3 ketamine sessions ideally spaced 7-10 days apart. After these 3 sessions, as a team we will discuss your treatment plan going forward. Many folks will find a series of 5-6 ketamine sessions can create long-lasting changes in their mindset and daily life. Sometimes people are able to taper off medications in consultation with their prescribing physician. Some clients will return once or twice a year for a ketamine therapy session as they feel it may be needed. We recognize that everyone's situation is unique and we honor that by creating personalize treatment plans for every client.

Integration Session 2 And Beyond:

We see integration as key to your transformation, so as with the first session, we will schedule a follow up with our therapist within 72 hours.

Ongoing Therapy Sessions:

You will have the option of ongoing therapy and integration with our therapist if desired. We highly encourage ongoing integration with your therapist or establishing care with our therapists to help facilitate this process.
